WHAT IS CAPTURE - A Community Filmmaking Project?

Capture collects video clips contributed by the community created based on a theme for 24 hours. Then, four Capture Film Editing and Music Teams each produce one final creative film using the community contributed video clips within the next 24 hours. Capture 2016 will take place in simultaneously in Chattanooga, TN and Kansas City, MO.


HOW CAPTURE WORKS

1. WE KICKOFF on FRIDAY, SEPT. 16th in both CHATTANOOGA & KANSAS CITY

Capture 2016 begins on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th at 5:30 PM EST at Tech Town (Chattanooga location). There, the THEME of Capture 2016 will be announced at live events in both Chattanooga and Kansas City.

  • Chattanooga Kickoff Location: Tech Town

  • Kansas City Kickoff Location: TBA

2. YOU SHOOT & UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO

NOTE: Those who register to contribute video to the project will be given access to the Capture Video Upload page. This access link will be sent via email to all registrants on Friday, September 16th at approximately 5:30 PM. That's when the Capture 2016 'Theme' is announced (see above)! 

Shoot your best footage using almost any digital video device (iPhones, smart-phones, camcorders, etc.) that you think best represents our theme. You may submit up to five (5) pieces of video. Each of the five videos may have a maximum length of thirty seconds (:30). All submitted videos from both Chattanooga and Kansas City citizens will be uploaded to a central server.

*The deadline for submitting video is Saturday, September 17th at 5:30 PM EST (4:30 PM CST).

3. WE CAPTURE, CREATE & SCORE

The selected Capture 2016 Film Editor & Music Teams take the community submitted footage from both Chattanooga and Kansas City and each team creates their own short film. The Capture 2016 Music Creation Teams will create custom music scores for their team film.

4. THE CREATIVE TEAMS SUBMIT THEIR FILMS

Each of the four teams will submit their finished films by 12:00 PM (EST) on SUNDAY, September 18th.

5. Capture 2015 Premieres on SUNDAY, SEPT. 18th in both Chattanooga and Kansas City

  • Chattanooga Capture Premiere Location: Cine-Rama with event starting at 5:30 PM

  • Kansas City Premiere Location: TBA

Live music from the Capture 2015 Musicians, the premiere screening of the 2016 Capture Films from Chattanooga and Kansas City and the presentation of the 2016 Best In Show awards will all happen on Sunday, Sept. 18th from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Cine-Rama
