Capture: A Community Filmmaking Project® is a unique crowd-sourced, 48 - Hour project that joins community members with filmmakers, editors and musicians to create short theme-based films. Founded by AVA in 2013, it is the only large-scale arts participation project that spans two US cities with gigabit Internet networks: Kansas City and Chattanooga, TN. Your sponsorship of Capture places your brand at the unique alignment of arts, culture, and technology driving economic development in US cities. About the Organizers

Association For Visual Arts (AVA)

The Association for Visual Arts, is a non-profit 501©3 organization that works to connect the Visual Arts and the community-at-large by providing resources and fostering connections among art makers and audiences. AVA is the producer of Capture- A Community Filmmaking Project, which was developed to engage the Chattanooga community through film and technology. With the first Capture weekend in 2013, the third year of the event is now established in both Chattanooga and Kansas city. AVA produces the 4 Bridges Arts Festival, which just celebrated it’s 15th anniversary, as well as ongoing exhibits in its Chattanooga gallery space and arts education programs. for more information, go to avarts.org

KC Film & Media Office 

The Kansas City Film & Media Office leads the city’s efforts to attract film, television, commercial and new media production to Greater Kansas City. A part of Visit KC, the Film Office focuses on three core priorities:  production assistance, project recruitment and industry support. The office connects filmmakers and productions with local resources, key connections and support services. The office works closely with KCMO Office of Culture & Creative Services, the Missouri Film Commission and Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission.

KC Film Society 

Established in the 1991, the Film Society of Greater Kansas City was established by members of the film exhibition community to promote film going and appreciation of filmmaking. Since its inception, the Film Society has hosted hundreds of events and screenings for their members. In 2014, the Film Commission of Greater Kansas City merged with the Film Society to established Film Society KC, a newly reinvigorated organization that will help support filmgoing and filmmaking by continuing these special member events and screenings.

We exist to create a dynamic film culture in Kansas City by promoting and supporting local film makers and theaters, providing educational programs and events, and creating transformative movie experiences for film enthusiasts.
